Privacy Policy
Introduction
Welcome to Jobzz AI, a mobile application operated by Upix AB (“Jobzz” or “we”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding that data. By creating an account or using Jobzz AI, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Who We Are (Data Controller)
Jobzz AI is provided by Upix AB, organization number 559484-5173. Upix AB is the “data controller” responsible for processing your personal data. You can contact us with any questions or requests regarding your personal data at contact@jobzz.se. Please note: We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer at this time, as we are not required to by law. However, we are happy to address your privacy questions or concerns via the contact information above.
Data We Collect
We collect various types of personal data when you use Jobzz AI. This includes information you provide directly and data collected automatically through the app. The categories of data we process are:
● Profile and CV Information: When you create a profile or upload your CV, we collect personal details such as your first and last name, age, phone number, email address, educational background, work experience, and any information you include in your “About” section or CV text. This helps build your professional profile for job applications.
● Profile Photo: If you upload a profile picture (or take one using your camera), we will collect and store that image as part of your profile.
● Contact List (Optional): With your permission, Jobzz AI may access your device’s contact list. This allows us to offer features like inviting friends or finding contacts who also use Jobzz. We only collect contact data if you explicitly grant access, and you can always revoke this permission via your device settings.
● Device and Usage Data: We automatically collect certain technical data when you use the app. This includes device information (such as device model, operating system, unique device identifiers), log information (such as IP address, app version, dates/times of access), and usage data (such as features you use, jobs you swipe or interact with, and crashes or error reports). This information helps us troubleshoot issues, secure the service, and understand how users interact with Jobzz AI.
● Cookies and Tracking Technologies: Jobzz AI and our website use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels or mobile ad identifiers) to personalize your experience and analyze usage. These technologies may collect information about your browsing or app usage behavior over time. For example, we might use them to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, or gather analytics on how you navigate job listings. You have control over cookies and trackers through your device or browser settings (see Cookies and Trackingsection below for more detail).
● Communications: If you contact us for support or communicate with us (via email or through the app), we may collect and retain those communications and your contact details to respond to you and improve our services.
Providing Personal Data: Some information is necessary for you to create an account and use Jobzz AI. For instance, we require an email address for account registration and a minimum set of profile information to enable job applications. If you choose not to provide required data, you may not be able to create an account or use certain features of the app.
How We Collect Data and App Permissions
We collect personal data in two main ways: (1) Directly from you, when you fill out information or communicate with us, and (2) Automatically, when you use the app or enable certain device features. Jobzz AI will request your permission before accessing sensitive features or data on your device:
● Camera and Photos: If you choose to upload a profile picture or any photo, we will ask for access to your device camera or photo library. Granting this permission allows you to take a new photo or select an existing image for your profile. You can decline to grant camera/photos access — in that case, you simply won’t be able to upload a new picture, but you can still use other features of the app.
● Contact List: We will explicitly ask for permission to access your contacts if you try to use a feature that needs it (for example, inviting a friend to join Jobzz). You are free to allow or refuse this access. If granted, we may read names and contact information from your address book to find connections or send invitations, but we do not store your entire contact list on our servers – we only use it for the specific feature and then discard it. You can always revoke contact access in your device’s privacy settings.
● Push Notifications: With your consent, we may send push notifications to your device to alert you about new job matches, application updates, messages, or important account information. The first time you run the app, your device will prompt you to allow these notifications. If you agree, you can later adjust your notification preferences or turn them off completely via the app settings or your device notification settings.
● Cookies and Analytics: As noted, we use cookies or similar identifiers for analytics and personalization. On the mobile app, these might be device identifiers or in-app tracking tools rather than browser cookies. On our website, cookies are used. You can manage these through your browser settings or in-app privacy settings if available.
We are committed to transparency about permissions. You remain in control – you can grant or revoke permissions at any time through your device’s settings (for example, iOS or Android settings for Jobzz AI). Revoking a permission will stop the app from accessing that data going forward (though it won’t undo past collection).
How We Use Your Data (Purposes and Legal Bases)
Jobzz AI uses your personal data to provide and improve our services. Under the GDPR, we must also have a valid “legal basis” for each use of your data. Below we describe the purposes for which we process data and the corresponding legal bases:
- Providing and Operating the Service: We use your profile information, CV details, and other personal data to create your account, allow you to swipe through job ads, and let you apply to jobs with a single tap. For example, your information is used to populate application forms or profiles that recruiters see. Legal basis: Performance of a contract – we process your data to deliver the services you sign up for under our Terms of Use.
- Facilitating Job Applications and Connections: When you interact with a job ad (such as swiping “apply” or expressing interest), we may share your profile/CV with the employer or recruiter who posted that job so they can consider you for the position. By using Jobzz AI to apply, you agree that your CV and profile details may be forwarded to such third parties. Note that sharing of your CV is ultimately at Jobzz’s discretion – while we aim to connect jobseekers with opportunities, we do not guarantee that every application or profile will be sent to a recruiter. We may use automated matching to decide which applications to forward (see Automated Decision-Making below). Legal basis: Consent – we treat your action of applying or opting to share your profile as your consent to transmit your data to the recruiter; additionally, this processing is part of providing the service you requested.
- Communicating with You: We use your contact information (email, phone push notifications) to send you service-related communications. This includes verification emails or SMS during signup, notifications about new job matches or relevant opportunities, updates about applications, and important announcements about the app (such as changes to terms or privacy policy). Legal basis: Legitimate interests – it’s in our interest (and often yours) to keep you informed about your account and opportunities. For optional marketing emails, if any, we will obtain your consent as required. Push notifications are only sent if you have permitted them (consent via device).
- Personalization and Job Matching: To enhance your experience, we may analyze your profile, activity, and preferences to suggest jobs that might interest you or to show your profile to recruiters seeking candidates like you. For instance, we might prioritize showing certain relevant job listings based on your work history or swiping behavior. Legal basis: Legitimate interests – improving our service and helping users find suitable jobs efficiently. Where required by law, we will obtain consent for certain profiling activities, but generally such profiling is minimal and non-intrusive (focused on providing better matches within the app’s functionality).
- Analytics and Product Improvement: We process device and usage data (such as crash logs, usage patterns, and cookie data) to understand how the app is performing and how users engage with it. This information helps us debug issues, optimize user interface, and develop new features. We may also aggregate data to generate insights (for example, overall app usage statistics) that guide our business decisions. Legal basis: Legitimate interests – ensuring the quality and efficiency of our platform. These analytics are typically done on aggregated or pseudonymized data and do not focus on any one individual except as needed to resolve specific technical problems.
- Advertising and Data Monetization: As part of our business model, Upix AB may sell or share data collectedthrough Jobzz AI with third parties. This could include providing data to recruiters, staffing agencies, or other partners who may use it to identify candidates or for related commercial purposes. We might also allow third-party advertisers or partners to use certain data (e.g. usage patterns or demographic information) to show you targeted ads or offers, either within our app or on other platforms. Legal basis:Legitimate interests – we may process and share personal data for direct marketing or commercial gain, but we will do so in compliance with privacy laws. Where required, we will seek your consent (for example, if we plan to share your contact details with an external party for marketing unrelated to job matching). You have the right to object to this type of processing at any time (see Your Rights below).
- Security and Legal Compliance: We use personal data as needed to prevent fraud, secure our systems, and comply with legal obligations. For example, we might monitor account activity to detect suspicious behavior or retain certain data to meet record-keeping laws. If required by law enforcement or authorities (with valid process), we may process and share data to comply with those legal requirements. Legal basis: Compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests – protecting the security of our service and community.
We will not use your personal data for purposes that are incompatible with those above without informing you and obtaining your consent if required. We also avoid vague uses; each purpose listed is intended to be clear. If we need to use data for a new purpose, we will update this Policy and notify you as appropriate.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies and similar technologies are used by Jobzz AI to recognize you and collect information when you use our website or app. A “cookie” is a small text file stored on your browser or device. In a mobile app, we might use analogous tracking tools like device identifiers or in-app storage.
Why we use them:
● Authentication and Preferences: For example, cookies keep you logged in as you navigate the app or site and remember your settings (like language or notification preferences).
● Analytics:We use cookies/trackers to understand how users reach our site, which pages or screens are viewed, how long is spent in the app, and other usage metrics. This helps us improve the app’s design and content.
● Personalized Content: In the app, we might use tracking to recall what job ads you’ve seen or swiped, so we can avoid repetition and suggest new relevant jobs.
● Advertising: If we work with advertising partners, cookies or mobile ad IDs may be used to deliver more relevant ads to you on our platform or to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. For instance, an ad partner might use a cookie to ensure you don’t see the same ad repeatedly or to show ads for companies or roles similar to ones you’ve interacted with.
Your choices: When using our website, you can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being used. Our site may also present a cookie consent banner if required by law, allowing you to opt in or out of certain cookie categories. In the mobile app, you can reset or limit use of mobile advertising identifiers in your device settings (for example, reset your Advertising ID or limit ad tracking on iOS/Android). Keep in mind that disabling cookies or trackers might affect some features – for example, if you block cookies, the website might not remember your login, and if you disable tracking entirely, you might receive less tailored job recommendations.
For more details about cookies and how we use them, you may refer to our Cookie Policy (if available) or contact us. By using Jobzz AI without adjusting your browser or device settings to disable cookies, you consent to our use of cookies and similar technologies as described here.
How We Share Your Data (Data Recipients)
We understand that your personal data is important, and we only share it in certain circumstances. Jobzz does not sell or disclose your information to unknown third parties without your consent. We share data with the following categories of recipients for the purposes outlined in this Policy:
● Recruiters, Employers, and Similar Partners: The core function of Jobzz AI is to connect jobseekers with job opportunities. When you apply to a job or otherwise indicate interest in an opportunity, we may share your relevant personal data (your profile information, CV, and contact details) with the company or recruiter that listed the job. They will use this information to evaluate you as a candidate and may contact you to proceed with the hiring process. We only share your data with such parties when you have taken an action to initiate that contact (e.g. applying or swiping on a job ad). Note: While we facilitate the transfer of your profile to recruiters, Upix AB reserves the right not to forward your information in every case (for example, if we detect misuse or if the opportunity is no longer available).
● Service Providers (Processors): We employ trusted third-party companies and individuals to help us operate the service or process data on our behalf. These include cloud hosting providers (to store data and run our app), analytics services (to analyze user behavior), crash reporting services, and communication tools (to send emails or SMS). These service providers have access to personal data only as needed to perform tasks for us and are contractually obligated to handle it securely and in compliance with applicable law (under GDPR, they act as our “data processors”). Examples of such providers might be our data center or cloud storage provider, email delivery service, or push notification platform.
● Business Partners and Data Purchasers: As part of our business, we may share or sell data (in accordance with data protection laws) to third parties that have a legitimate use for it. This could include other recruitment agencies, job boards, or marketing partners who are interested in reaching candidates. For instance, we might partner with a staffing firm that is looking for candidates in your industry and, if you have indicated interest, share your CV with them. In some cases, we may provide data in aggregate or anonymized form (which would not identify you personally) for industry analysis or advertising. If we share personal data (non-anonymized) for these purposes, we will ensure there is a lawful basis, such as your consent or our legitimate interest, and we will provide appropriate safeguards for your rights (for example, offering an opt-out for marketing communications from these third parties).
● Legal and Regulatory Recipients: We may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement agencies, regulators, or lawyers if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or valid legal process (such as a subpoena or court order). We may also share information when we believe in good faith that it’s necessary to enforce our Terms of Use, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jobzz, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud prevention, security, or credit risk reduction.
● Corporate Transactions: If Upix AB is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or reorganization, your personal data might be transferred to a successor or affiliate as part of that transaction. If such a transfer occurs, we will ensure the new entity honors the commitments we have made in this Privacy Policy or inform you if they will use your data for new purposes.
We never publicize your CV or profile openly on the internet through our service – any sharing is targeted to specific recruiters/employers or partners as described. We also do not share your contact list information with any third party; if you grant access to contacts, it’s used only within the app for your personal networking purposes (like invites) and not stored or given out.
When we do share personal data with third parties, we strive to only share the minimum necessary for the intended purpose and to ensure that appropriate confidentiality and security measures are in place. Third parties who receive personal data from us are expected to protect it and use it only for the reasons it was provided.
International Data Transfers
Upix AB is based in Sweden, but the personal data we collect may be stored or processed in countries outside the European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA). For example, we may use cloud servers or service providers located in the United States or other countries. This means your data might be transferred to or accessible in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your home country.
Whenever we transfer personal data out of the EEA, we take steps to ensure it remains protected according to EU standards. These safeguards include:
● European Commission Adequacy: In some cases, we may transfer data to countries that the European Commission has determined have an adequate level of data protection, which means they are approved as having strong privacy laws.
● Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): When we transfer data to a service provider or affiliate outside the EU that is not in an “adequate” country, we typically use legally-approved data transfer agreements. These agreements incorporate Standard Contractual Clauses – contractual commitments that oblige the recipient to protect your data according to EU GDPR requirements. This contractual mechanism is a primary way we safeguard data in global operations.
● Encryption and Security Measures: We use encryption to protect personal data in transit and at rest. For example, data stored on our servers (including those outside the EU) is encrypted when not actively in use (“encrypted at rest”). If data is transmitted between our app, our servers, and any third-party, we use security protocols like HTTPS/TLS to encrypt it in transit. Encryption helps ensure that even if data is stored abroad, it cannot be accessed by unauthorized parties.
● Additional Safeguards: We also perform due diligence on our international partners and service providers to ensure they handle data securely. This may include assessing their security certifications, privacy practices, and possibly additional technical measures (like pseudonymization of data, where identifying information is kept separate).
By using Jobzz AI, you understand that your personal data may be transferred to countries outside of your own. However, we will always protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws. If you have questions about our international transfer practices or want more details about our safeguards, please contact us at contact@jobzz.se.
Data Security
Jobzz takes the security of your personal data seriously. We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include:
● Encryption:As mentioned, we encrypt personal data stored in our databases and use secure protocols for data in transit. This means your information is encoded so that only authorized systems can read it.
● Access Controls: We limit access to personal data to employees and service providers who need it to perform their duties and who are bound by strict confidentiality obligations. Internal policies prevent misuse of data and ensure staff are trained on data protection.
● Security Testing and Monitoring: Our systems are regularly updated with security patches. We utilize firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and monitoring to guard against potential attacks. We also periodically test our applications for vulnerabilities to strengthen defenses.
● Anonymization/Pseudonymization: Where possible, we remove or obscure personal identifiers from data when full details are not required for the processing purpose. For example, analytics may be performed on aggregate datasets that do not directly reveal individual identities.
Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. The internet and mobile networks come with inherent risks. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. It is important that you also play a role in keeping your data safe: use a strong, unique password for your account, keep your login details confidential, and notify us immediately at contact@jobzz.se if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
If a data breach does occur that poses a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Data Retention
How long do we keep your data? We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, including to provide you with the Jobzz AI service. In practice, this means we will keep your information while you have an active account and for a period thereafter, unless you request deletion or a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Key retention points:
● Active Account: As long as you maintain an account with Jobzz AI, we will retain the information you provide (profile, CV, etc.) so that we can continue to offer you the service (e.g. allowing you to apply to jobs and maintaining your application history).
● Account Deletion: If you choose to delete your account or request that we erase your data, we will remove or anonymize personal data associated with you. Some basic identifying information may be kept to record that you were once a user (for legal/accounting purposes or to honor your opt-out preferences), but we will no longer actively use it. When we erase data upon your request, we aim to do so within a reasonable timeframe (generally within 30 days) unless technical reasons require more time.
● Inactive Accounts: If you stop using Jobzz AI but do not formally delete your account, we may retain your data indefinitely, as there is no preset expiration. However, we will periodically review our user database. If we identify profiles that have been inactive for a very long time, we may choose to anonymize or delete some of that data to reduce storage, after attempting to contact you.
● Legal Requirements and Disputes: In certain cases, we might need to keep data longer despite an erasure request – for example, if we are required by law to retain records (such as financial transaction records), or if there is an unresolved issue like a dispute or legal claim. In such cases, we’ll retain only the data necessary for that purpose and for no longer than required.
● Backups: Please note that residual copies of your information might persist in routine backups. If we delete data, it will be removed from our active database, but it might remain in secured backup storage for a short period until those backups cycle out.
In summary, our default retention is indefinitefor user profile data, to allow you to use the service over time without losing information. However, you remain in control – if you want your data removed, you can contact us to request deletion, and we will honor that (subject to the exceptions noted for legal compliance). We do not keep data longer than necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. When data is no longer needed, we will either delete it or anonymize it (so it can no longer be linked to you).
Your Rights Under GDPR
As a user of Jobzz AI and a data subject under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have specific rights regarding your personal data. We are committed to honoring these rights. Below is a summary of your key data protection rights:
● Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, as well as information on how we process it. This helps you understand what data we have and confirm it’s being used lawfully. We will provide a copy of your data free of charge, though we may charge a reasonable fee for additional copies or excessive requests.
● Right to Rectification: If any of your personal data is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct or update it. For example, if you change your phone number or notice an error in your profile, you can update some information directly in the app or ask us to assist. We’ll make the corrections as soon as possible.
● Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can do this if, for instance, the data is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected, or if you withdraw consent (where consent was the basis) or object to processing and we have no overriding legitimate grounds to keep it. This right is not absolute – sometimes we may need to retain certain information (see Data Retentionabove) – but we will respect and comply with valid erasure requests. Deleting your account through the app or contacting us to delete your data will result in removal of your personal information from our active systems, subject to any legal retention requirements.
● Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to ask us to limit or "pause" the processing of your data in certain circumstances. This could apply if you contest the accuracy of your data (while we verify it), or if you object to processing (while we consider your request), or if processing is unlawful and you prefer restriction to deletion. When processing is restricted, we will store your data but not use it for the time being, except to the extent necessary (for example, to secure it or as permitted by you).
● Right to Object: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data when we do so under a legal basis of legitimate interests or for direct marketing. This means if you disagree with how we use your data for something like personalization or data monetization, you can object, and we must review your request. In the case of direct marketing, if you object or opt-out, we will stop using your data for that purpose immediately. For other legitimate interest processing, we will cease processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests or it’s needed for legal claims.
● Right to Data Portability: You have the right to obtain the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to have that data transmitted to another controller where technically feasible. In plain terms, you can ask for a copy of your data (for example, your profile information and CV content) in a format like JSON or CSV that you could then, for instance, give to another job service. This right applies when our processing is based on your consent or on a contract and is carried out by automated means.
● Right to Withdraw Consent: In cases where we rely on your consent to process data (for example, accessing your contacts or sending push notifications, or certain data sharing for marketing), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of any processing done before you withdrew consent, but it means we will stop the specific activities that were based on consent. You can withdraw consent by changing your app/device settings (for permissions like contacts, camera, notifications) or by contacting us to adjust your preferences (for example, if you want to opt-out of a previously agreed data sharing).
● Right Not to Be Subject to Automated Decisions: You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that significantly affects you, unlessit is necessary for entering into or performing a contract, based on your explicit consent, or otherwise authorized by law with suitable safeguards. Jobzz AI does not typically make any legally significant decisions about users without human involvement. We may use algorithms to sort or recommend jobs or to preliminarily screen applicants, but final decisions (like whether to forward your profile to a recruiter or whether you get hired) involve human judgment. If you believe you have been subjected to an unfair automated decision, you can contact us to have a person review the decision or to express your point of view.
To exercise any of your rights, please contact us at contact@jobzz.se. We may need to verify your identity to process certain requests (to ensure we don’t disclose data to the wrong person). We will respond to your request as soon as possible, within one month at most, as required by GDPR. This time may be extended by an additional two months for complex requests, but we will inform you if an extension is needed. Exercising your rights is free of charge. However, if a request is unfounded or excessive (for example, repetitive requests), we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on it – but we will explain our reasoning in such cases.
Finally, if you have given us consent for something, you always have the right to change your mind and withdraw consent, as noted above. We want you to feel in control of your personal data.
Children’s Privacy and Age Limit
Jobzz AI is intended for general audiences and is aimed at jobseekers. We do not set a strict age limit for using the app beyond what data protection laws require. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of consent in their jurisdiction. The minimum age to use online services under the GDPR is 16, but individual EU member states (including Sweden) may allow a younger age (as low as 13) for valid consent. Similarly, other countries have their own age limits for data consent.
Our policy is that you must be at least the minimum age of digital consent in your country to create an account or use Jobzz AI without parental approval. For example, if you are in a country where the age of consent for online services is 13 (such as Sweden), you must be 13 or older to sign up. If you are under that required age, you should only use our services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We do not actively verify user ages upon registration, so we rely on users’ representation that they meet the required age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under the applicable age without proper consent, we will take steps to delete that data and may suspend or delete the account.
Parents or guardians who believe that Jobzz AI might have been used by an underage child can contact us at contact@jobzz.se to request the child’s data deletion.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy here with a new “Last Updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will notify you in a more prominent way. For example, we might send an email to the address associated with your account or display a notice within the app. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
Your continued use of Jobzz AI after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms (to the extent permitted by law). If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the service and, if you wish, delete your account or contact us to have your data removed.
